Smule Magic Piano
When I first saw this in the app store for free, my first thought was “another lame music app”. However, I still went ahead and downloaded it, just to see if my first impression was true or not.
When you first open the app, you are greeted with a bright colourful display that shows all your options. The four options are “Song Book, Solo, My Piano, and World”. When you click the Song book, you are given 30 free Smoola. Smoola is the game currency. You use the Smoola to buy songs from artists such as Rihanna or Michael Jackson. You can then play these songs on the piano, which I will later explain in more detail. On this part of the app, you can also play the songs you have bought. Using the in game piano, it gives you simple guidelines on which keys to press etc.
Under the “World” page it shows the world globe. It shows you where and what other people are playing through this application! You can switch between people listening to others play songs they have brought. You can also view peoples profiles. The profile just displays basic information, such as your username, gender, and country. You will need an account to use the app, but its free so no need to worry.
The “My Piano” part of the app is where you can edit your profile. Your profile consists of pictures, Smoola’s, connecting to social networks and much more.
Lastly, the “Solo” part of the app allows you to play the piano however you want to. There are 4 different shapes or styles of piano you can use. For example, curved, classic and many more.
Overall, this app is great for all ages and all levels of musicians. It is fun because you don’t need to be a professional to play the piano on here and you can learn how to play popular songs! Therefore, I would highly recommend this application to everyone.
